The Steveston Historical Society hosted a summer garden dinner party in the Steveston Town Square Park on August 19, 2017. Guests enjoyed a beautiful evening and catered dinner while listening to a melodic performance by the Beauty Shop Dolls.
The Steveston Town Square Park, as well as the adjacent Japanese Benevolent Society Building is available for small receptions and events. Please contact us if you are interested in renting this beautiful venue.
Walking Tour Vignettes have officially ended for 2017. We can’t say enough about these wonderfully talented actors – they were stars!
A special thank you also to Judyann McCarthy (Drama Teacher & Guide). It was also great to have our brilliant Costumer Designer Shelby Page and Playwright Andrew Wade to help celebrate at the wrap up party.

See history come to life this summer! The Steveston Historical Society, together with the Steveston Museum, are pleased to present Walking Tour Vignettes – a play in five parts during a walking tour of Steveston.
Costumed interpreters (who also happen to be very talented high school drama students from Hugh McRoberts Secondary School) will accompany our summer walking program.
Tours will leave from Steveston Museum on Fridays at 4:30pm, and Saturdays at 1pm in June and July, 2017.
Tickets are $7. Children under 12 are free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult. To book, contact the Steveston Museum & Visitor Centre at 604-271-8280 or in person at 3811 Moncton Street. Ask for the “Walking Tour Vignettes” tour.
Steveston’s history demonstrates several elements that are integral to Canada’s cultural make-up: multicultural community, perseverance through hardship, and pride in its accomplishments. The plays will reflect these qualities, encourage residents and visitors into a deeper understanding about our community, and leave a lasting impact for current and future generations.
