The Steveston Historical Society is excited to share that we have been selected as a finalist in the Outstanding Service Award category for the 47th Annual Business Excellence Awards!
This annual awards event is hosted by the Richmond Chamber of Commerce.
We are thrilled to welcome back local potter Marsha Lynn Hoggan to the Pop Up Art space. Marsha has been making pottery since 2005. Her functional work is mainly porcelain, loving the translucency and the way it glows after glaze firing. Working with clay has also allowed her to experiment with raku as well as sculpting. Marsha’s whimsical garden and floral designs as well as her orcas designs are so worth coming in to have a look. @marshalynnpottery
Scott Samuels has been on an artistic journey ever since he was a young boy from creating lego structures to discovering his talent for drawing and as well as his creative abilities. Scott gave up art in his teens and then rediscovered his talent while recovering from a major injury. From portraits to landscapes, Scott continues to explore the many facets of this art. @artlife_skatelife

John B. Beatty
West Coast artist John B. Beatty started his painting career in 1960. He has now completed over 1000 acrylic and oil paintings inspired primarily from life on the West Coast and while traveling. John is an active member of the https://meninhats.art/artist/john-beatty/ art group as well as the Richmond Artists Guild, participating in Plein Air and studio outings throughout the year.
Betsy Randel
Betsy Randel is a local Steveston artist and writer for many years who enjoys celebrating the simplicity and beauty of nature in watercolour. She paints florals, landscapes (many of her local gardens and Steveston surroundings), and still life. Having a certificate in Fine Arts from Emily Carr University and having taken classes through the Riverside Arts Circle and Richmond Artist Guild, she is also self taught. The SHS remembers and thanks Eileen (Tootsie) for her many years of service to the Post Office & Museum as well as being part of the original group who helped save the building and form the Steveston Historical Society.
