Arrival of the S.V. Titania Mural Unveiled for Canada 150

Vignettes actors with Director Michael Chiu at the Mural Unveiling

Steveston Village has welcomed a new mural to town!

In honour of Canada’s 150, the City of Richmond commissioned the painting “Arrival of the S.V. Titania” by world-renowned maritime painter John M. Horton. This painting is on display at City Hall.

Mural artists Dean and Christina LauzĂ© skillfully reproduced the painting on the south wall of the Steveston Hotel next to Fisherman’s Park. The painting was unveiled as part of Culture Days weekend on October 1, 2017.

Our vignettes actors were on-site to add to the ambience of the event. Congratulations to everyone involved in this beautiful and historic piece of artwork.

Garden Dinner Party a Delight – Revitalized Town Square Park a Beautiful Venue

Beauty Shop Dolls perform at the Garden Dinner Party in August

The Steveston Historical Society hosted a summer garden dinner party in the Steveston Town Square Park on August 19, 2017. Guests enjoyed a beautiful evening and catered dinner while listening to a melodic performance by the Beauty Shop Dolls.

The Steveston Town Square Park, as well as the adjacent Japanese Benevolent Society Building is available for small receptions and events. Please contact us if you are interested in renting this beautiful venue.

That’s a wrap! Walking Tour Vignettes done for the year

Vignettes actors and crew wrap up this year's season of Walking Tour Vignettes

Walking Tour Vignettes have officially ended for 2017. We can’t say enough about these wonderfully talented actors – they were stars!

A special thank you also to Judyann McCarthy (Drama Teacher & Guide). It was also great to have our brilliant Costumer Designer Shelby Page and Playwright Andrew Wade to help celebrate at the wrap up party.

Didn’t catch the plays this summer? Don’t worry! Walking Tour Vignettes will be returning to Steveston in 2018.

Happy Canada Day, Steveston!
