Help us celebrate our community’s story! In 2026, Steveston Historical Society proudly marks 50 years of preserving and sharing the stories that define our community.

Fifty years ago, a few Steveston residents decided the village's history was worth keeping. On Sunday, July 26, we're marking that milestone the way it should be marked: outdoors, together, with the whole community. Many of the Society's founders and earliest volunteers will be there as our guests of honour.

Come for the afternoon — Japanese taiko drumming, Chinese calligraphy, gyotaku (traditional fish printing) and fry bread demonstrations, live music, children's activities, short heritage walking performances by local student actors, exhibits from community partners, and, of course, anniversary cake. Muralist Mark Anderson will also be on hand to talk about the commemorative mural in the works for the museum.

It's free, and all are welcome.
