50 Years of the Steveston Historical Society

On Sunday, July 26, 2026, members, neighbours, pioneers and partners gathered at Town Square Park beside the Steveston Museum to celebrate fifty years of the Steveston Historical Society. Mayor Malcolm Brodie joined us to mark the day and helped co-chairs Linda Barnes and Joanne Teraguchi cut the anniversary cake.
Since 1976, the Society has worked to preserve and promote the history of Steveston. This page gathers the anniversary video, our thanks to everyone who made the celebration possible, and photos from the day.
With Gratitude
For fifty years, the Steveston Historical Society has helped keep our community’s stories alive. Our anniversary celebrations happened because local businesses, organizations and neighbours stepped up to help. To everyone who gave to our event or our upcoming Legacy Mural project, thank you.
