Marsha Hoggan & Jennifer James

We’re always thrilled to welcome local pottery and mixed media artists Marsha Hoggan and Jennifer James to our Pop-Up space to showcase their incredible creations.

November Pop-Up Artists are Jennifer James and Marsha Hoggan.

Marsha Hoggan

Marsha has been creating beautiful pottery since 2005 and now works from her own studio. Her functional pieces are primarily made from porcelain, with one of her more recent passions being black porcelain — a stunning material that beautifully complements her underglaze designs. Another of Marsha’s creative pursuits is Raku pottery; in 2024, she even built her own Raku kiln. The Orca theme appears throughout much of Marsha’s work, a fitting tribute to the spirit and beauty of the West Coast.

Jennifer James

Jennifer is a multi-textural artist whose creative journey began as soon as she could hold a crayon. She has been crafting pottery since the age of 13, exploring a variety of hand-building techniques and sculptural forms. Deeply inspired by the spiritual essence of nature, Jennifer infuses her work with this connection, creating pieces that are both expressive and meaningful. Her collection features nature-inspired Raku pottery and sculptures — including mythical Sprites, sculpted flowers with crystal centers, owls, and butterflies. She also creates a stunning range of stoneware mugs and brooches, each piece reflecting her love of texture, form, and the natural world.

Richmond Artist Guild and Marv Skelton join the November Pop Up Artist space.

Richmond Artists Guild “Guess Who” with featured artist Marv Skelton

The Richmond Artists Guild is showcasing a series of 10 x 10-inch canvases created by a variety of local artists, each priced at $125. Which style or painting draws your eye? The artists’ names are intentionally hidden, inviting buyers to choose a piece that speaks to them — guided by inspiration rather than recognition.

Marv Skelton

Marv is the founding member of local Plein Air group “Men in Hats” and a beautifully talented oil painter and member of the Richmond Artists Guild.
